The first China-Russia Cultural and Educational Exchange Forum and the inaugural conference of the Russian-Chinese Association of Applied Research Institutes were held in Beijing on October 30.
With 52 Chinese universities and educational institutions, and 30 Russian universities and educational institutions participating in it, the event aims to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the field of education between China and Russia and promote the common development of applied higher education in both countries.Â
In his opening remarks, Liu Limin, president of the China Education Association for International Exchange, emphasized the importance of cooperation between China and Russia in the field of education, expressing ardent expectations for future cooperation between the two parties. Pavel Shevtsov, deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo (the Russian Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation), expressed his warm congratulations on the convening of the conference through a video speech.
“I look forward to China and Russia achieving more fruitful results in the field of education,” Shevtsov said.
Focusing on the theme of cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia, Tatiana Urzhumtseva, director of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, and Liu Lin, a national political adviser and head of the China Association for Non-Government Education, highlighted the potential and prospects of cooperation between the two parties in the field of education in their speeches, respectively.
