The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is providing the Hilde Domin Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2025/2026, which is financed by the Federal Foreign Office. This scholarship is designed to assist students and doctoral candidates globally who face the risk of being deprived of their right to education due to their identity or civic and political involvement.
The scholarship offers a monthly stipend (€992 for master’s students and €1,300 for doctoral candidates), health and accident insurance, a travel allowance, and, if required, a preparatory course in the German language.
The funding programme is available to master’s students and doctoral candidates from around the world (excluding those from EU/EEA/EFTA countries, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and the UK) who are at risk of having their educational rights denied in their home countries due to their ethnic, sexual, gender, or religious identity and/or their political or civic activities.
The German Academic Exchange Service, known as Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), serves as a fundamental element of Germany’s foreign cultural and educational policy. As the largest funding organization of its kind globally, the DAAD is the national agency committed to promoting international academic collaboration. In the 21st century, the DAAD has continued to adapt, responding to the challenges of globalization, digitalization, and the growing competition for academic talent.
